newly released book on Ligonier

Stories and memories both poignant and profound are included in “Ligonier Valley Vignettes: Tales from the Laurel Highlands,” a newly released book from Pittsburgh-based freelance writer, Jennifer Sopko.
“The more I learned about Ligonier's history, the more it fascinated me,” said Sopko, who began her writing career in the area 10 years ago.
Sopko captures the history and spirit of the Ligonier Valley in this collection of fascinating tales. From Fort Ligonier and the Ligonier Valley Railroad to Idlewild Park and Ligonier Beach, Sopko shares historical events in the town and remembrances about the ‘good old days' from locals.
