OMG You have to be kidding me.

http://theweek.com/article/index/245587/hgtv-has-a-star-spangled-tablecloth-problem

This reminded me of the Mellow Mike where Amy's young daughter stood up and sang the Star Spangled Banner.  We were in the big dining room at the Roadhouse. Amy stood up and everyone stood and looked for a flag which we did find and put our hand on our hearts and listened. You sure wouldn't see a flag used as a tablecloth in the Roadhouse.

The very idea that someone would think it was alright to use the flag as a tablecloth just is so surprising to me. This falls into a general failure trend in editorial control and management.  We see it all the time.  Loss of skill in the English language.  It's on TV, billboards, in print - everywhere. Bad grammar, poor spelling, mispronunciation, and a failure to recognize flag protocol - all should be monitored and corrected by editors and managers before publication or broadcast.  Someone somewhere - please raise the bar!
