The Westmoreland Symphony performance at Fort Ligonier is such a great idea. Hope we can make it next year. Sounds like fun.



Thick, dark clouds gathered near Fort Ligonier on the evening of June 29, threatening to drench an outdoor concert by the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra. But the clouds seemed to move off miraculously just as artistic director Daniel Meyer raised the baton for the music to begin.

Call it a testimony to the power of positive thinking, as the fort's executive director, Annie Urban, and the symphony's board president, Priscilla Richardson, refused to entertain even the idea of rain.

Music lover and Westmoreland County Commissioner Chuck Anderson turned an eye to the skies and willed the clouds to head for Johnstown.
