Calling all Ligonier lovers of history and especially those who live... what once was Ramseytown and renamed Ligonier.  If you own property in this historic plan which was laid out WAY BACK in 1817, please consider coming to the hearing this Monday evening at the Ligonier Town Hall.

A large crowd is expected.  The hearing starts at 7pm but you might want to come earlier to get a good seat.  I understand the meeting has been moved to the auditorium and that those who wish to speak will need to register.  The plan is to limit speakers to 3 minutes each unless the numbers of those who wish to speak is fewer than expected.

Why am I calling for lovers of history to attend?  Well, I believe that the street grid laid out by John Ramsey in 1817 is deserving of protection and the proposed plans to close a portion of Wellington Alley are treading on the rights of property owners in the historic Ramseytown Plan and are out of sync with the celebration of history enjoyed by visitors and residents in the Ligonier Valley.

"The streets lines and alleys are hereby given and granted to be left open as highways forever."
John Ramsey
