Don't forget. There's a public hearing this evening at 7pm in the Ligonier Town Hall auditorium.

Doors should open at 6:30 and you'll need to sign in if you intend to speak.

The topic is the YMCA expansion which would include construction of medical offices for their partner in the venture, Excela.  The plans are to fence off the corner of N. Market and Church for the length of their property, thus shutting off Wellington Alley.

As part of this plan they must get approval from the borough for re-zoning that section of the Ligonier Borough.  The expansion plans do NOT meet current law.

The YMCA is also seeking borough approval for the closure of the section of Wellington Alley that runs through the area where they have acquired land on both sides of the alley.

Newspaper articles say they want to create an additional 8 parking spaces to help accommodate workers in the new medical offices.
