time for the Ligonier Highland Games

In Ligonier, they will perform jigs, reels and the stately strathspey, a type of dance tune in 4/4 time that was popular in 18th-century Scotland.
Scottish country dancing is done in sets with as few as six to as many as 10 people, Golightly says. While similar in form to its American counterpart the square dance, the footwork in Scottish country dancing is more important, with six basic steps arranged in patterns.
Visitors to the 55th Ligonier Highland Games on Sept. 21 also will be treated to performances by Scottish fiddlers, pipers, drummers, Celtic harpists and Highland dancers.
