Sue has another fun article in the PG.



In October 1990, my then-husband and I purchased a glorious 1892 Victorian house. It was still amazingly intact, though neglected.
The contractors invaded. Despite the considerable disarray inside and a seriously limited budget, I purchased two lush, mixed-greens wreaths for our front double doors. I searched for exactly the right color and texture of ribbon and labored over making the bows. I tortured the contractors until they repaired the porch light so the wreaths could be illuminated. It was a joyously happy time.
On Christmas Eve, our wreaths were stolen.
