Musical audition call for children’s chorus in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat March 8

JENNERSTOWN, PA – The Mountain Playhouse is known for bringing Broadway talent to its historic Jennerstown stage.  With auditions in New York and Pittsburgh, the actors who perform summer stock theater at the Playhouse hail from across the US.  This season, the Mountain Playhouse opens its auditions to talented local young vocalists who will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside professional actors. Youth musical auditions for the children’s chorus of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be held at the Mountain Playhouse March 8.   Auditions will be conducted by Teresa Stoughton Marafino, executive producer; Char Harris, director; Jacob Toth, choreographer; and Terry Osman, musical accompanist.

“Kids have to be able to sing,” Teresa Stoughton Marafino, executive producer of the Mountain Playhouse, said. “We are looking for enthusiastic young people who can sing and have a sense of rhythm and movement.” Auditions are by appointment for young singers ages 8 – 16. Parents may call 814-629-9201 ext. 114 to schedule a March 8 audition. According to Marafino, 12 chorus members will be chosen.
