interesting township news

The board approved an easement agreement with Ligonier Camp and Conference Center for a Ligonier Valley Trail project, as well as a month-to-month residential lease for a property, owned by the township, located along Old Lincoln Highway. Komar said the current tenants have lived there for 44 years, but a formal, written lease agreement was not previously established.

Zoning Officer Shelly Kaltenbaugh reported that the planning commission's Feb. 18 meeting will include an informal panel discussion with Dennis Puko, planning program manager at the state Department of Community and Economic Development, and Brian Lawrence, assistant deputy director at Westmoreland County Planning and Development, to discuss planning in Ligonier Township, land use issues, comprehensive plans and funding. She also said she recently met with representatives from Sheetz Inc., who said they anticipate beginning work within the next two weeks on its Ligonier location's renovations and expansion.
