Laurel Valley Elementary to get new roof

Ligonier Valley School District will move forward with repairing and replacing the roof of Laurel Valley Elementary School.
At its meeting on Monday night, the school board voted unanimously to award a contract to Miller-Thomas Gyekis, the low bidder for the project, at $575,168.
Field adviser Bruce Mancini of Tremco roofing said this year's roof replacement bids came in approximately $100,000 lower than last year's because the district began the bidding process earlier than it did in 2013.
