I saw them taking down the statue and wondered what was up. ;)

For the second time in four years, the lady on the Diamond has stepped down from her lofty perch atop the Ligonier fountain to come to the rescue of another fallen icon.
Recently, the “girl with a bird” statue was unbolted from her pedestal and taken to the Ligonier Borough workshop where a mold was formed of her head to be used to cast a replacement head for a similar statuette from a town in Virginia.
The task completes a four-year journey for Tom Thomas, a sculptor and restoration professional from Harrisonburg, Va.
“Tom called me a month ago and it has been a whirlwind ever since,” said Paul Fry director of public works in Ligonier. “When we can help in somebody else preserve their history, you gotta help them out.”
