LWA recycling program defended

Regarding the “Lance: To derailed recycling” item about the Ligonier recycling program in “Greensburg Laurels & Lances” : I am forced to respond to correct several miscategorizations in reference to the organization that oversees the program, the Loyalhanna Watershed Association (LWA).
Trib readers should understand that LWA is not in the business of commercial recycling, but has a primary mission dedicated to the restoration of our waters and lands. Nevertheless, LWA has provided its community members the opportunity to recycle numerous items in accordance with rules set up by the transporter and recipient of the material. While many of the program's participants abide by these rules, others disregard them and use the service gratuitously offered by LWA as a trash dump.
