Meet Your Local Fire Companies Night

Meet Your Local Fire Companies Night
The members of Ligonier Valley Fire Companies invite you to meet with us and learn about the important work of providing emergency services in our community. On the evening of July 16th from 6 to 9 p.m., we will be displaying apparatus from our four local fire companies in the parking lot of Holy Trinity Church in Ligonier.
Volunteers from Darlington, Ligonier, Waterford and Wilpen will be on hand to explain the functions of the equipment and its use in various types of emergencies. Members from Darlington and Wilpen will demonstrate the approach used to provide water in rural areas lacking fire hydrants, Ligonier will display its aerial Tower/Ladder 43 and Waterford will have its Rescue unit and the tools used at motor vehicle accidents.

Lyle Boyd, President of Ligonier Valley Fire Companies and a longtime member of the Waterford Fire Company, explained: "It's vitally important for our local citizens to understand what is involved with providing emergency services in the community. That includes understanding the types of equipment we use, the cost of acquiring it and the training needed to use it effectively."

Mark your calendar. The whole family is invited. We’ll see you on the 16th.
