Ligonier recycling program update

For the last six months, the Loyalhanna Watershed Association office has fielded hundreds of phone calls from Ligonier Valley residents regarding recycling options for paper products.
Resolute Forest Products, a pulp and paper manufacturer headquartered in Montreal, stopped taking cardboard and paper from the Ligonier Valley Community Recycling Center to its facility at Neville Island in Pittsburgh in February.
Recently, Westmoreland Cleanways stepped up to offer an option to recycle cardboard, newspaper and other types of paper at their recycling center located at 113 Innovative Lane, Latrobe, near Beatty Crossroads in Unity.
