  • FORT LIGONIER DAYS - OCTOBER 10-12: It's  the 55th Annual Fort Ligonier Days on October 10-12. Stay tuned to the Valley for all the event information. The schedule of events will be announced three times an hour during the festival! Listen: CLICK HERE.
  • SEPTEMBER 9 - NOVEMBER 18: The Ligonier Valley Library will hold an Historic Photograph Exhibit -Faces of Ligonier- Veterans of World War I from September 9th through November 18th in the Pennsylvania Room. The exhibit will commemorate World War I veterans of Ligonier through photographs.  The library is requesting to borrow any photos, artifacts and memorabilia. Contact the library at 724-238-6451 for more details. 
  • OCTOBER 10: The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier Valley will host a Lunch a l’Art with journalist and paperweight historian Michael Calleri on Thursday, October 16. The program, which begins at noon, includes lunch and a presentation by the speaker. Cost is $15 or $12 for SAMA members. Reservations are required by October 10 and can be made by calling the Museum at (724) 238-6015 
  • THROUGH OCTOBER 10: The Fort Days Information Booths need volunteers to take two hour shifts in one of the booths. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the Chamber Office at 724-238-4200.  Call the Chamber Office also if you are interested in becoming a sponsor or donating a raffle prize for the Fort Ligonier Days 5 K race....that number again is 724-238-4200.
  • OCTOBER 10-12: Fort Ligonier Days organizers are adding something new this year to the festivities – recycling! During the Fort Ligonier Days festival on the weekend of Oct. 10-12 guests will be able to recycle with help from Westmoreland Cleanways, which will supply special containers to recycle bottles and cans throughout the festival.
  • OCTOBER 18: Come out to the Compass Inn on Saturday, October 18th for Spooky Hoot! Trick or treating at the Compass Inn. Call 724-238-4983 for more details.
  • OCTOBER 21: On October 21st at 7 PM in the Community Room of the  Ligonier Valley Library,Susan Huba, Executive Director of the Loyalhanna Watershed Association, will discuss the Watershed Farm Conservation Project.  Come and learn about the many intitiatives that are planned to benefit our community. The Weeders & Seeders invite everyone to come to this free program.  You are also welcome to join us for our Business meeting which begins at 6 PM.
  • OCTOBER 18-31: The Annual Ligonier Scarecrow Contest takes place October 18th through the 31st all around the Ligonier Diamond. If you or your business would like to sponsor a scarecrow, contact the Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce at 724-238-4200.
  • OCTOBER 18: The Tamburitzans will perform at Town Hall on October 18th at 7 PM. Come see and hear the music and dances of Eastern Europe and neighboring cultures. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance by calling 1-877-826-6437.
  • OCTOBER 23: The Ligonier Valley Library is sponsoring technology classes. On October 15th at 6:30 PM, it's Tech Smart. And on October 23rd from 1:30-3:30 PM,it's Changing the FACE of Facebook. There is no charge for the classes but registration is required. Call the library for more details.
  • OCTOBER 24-26: The Compass Inn will host Hallow Hauntings and Storytelling Tours October 24th through the 26th for more information, call the Compass Inn at 724-238-4983.
  • NOVEMBER 28: Santa's Arrival & Diamond Lighting  will be on Friday, November 28, 2014 6:30pm. Santa will kick off the Christmas season in Ligonier! Join us for the countdown to light up the Diamond!
