Robinson leaves school board to serve as township supervisor.

Ligonier Valley school board President Bruce Robinson announced at Monday's meeting that he would be resigning effective Dec. 31.
Robinson served on the board for more than seven years. He said he is prohibited by state law to serve in two elected positions. He was elected to serve a three-year term as a Ligonier Township supervisor, effective in January.
He said he had mixed emotions about leaving the board.
“Education is a great passion of mine. I am leaving on a high note. This school board is in great shape,” Robinson said. “We have established a lot of goals we set out to do. But the township is in need of direction. I will do the best I can for the township.”
