dress warmly for Ice Fest this weekend

Ligonier will be abuzz with outdoor and indoor activities Jan. 24 and 25 when the Ice Fest comes to town.
The festival features more than 50 ice sculptures, many of which will be carved live on site throughout the weekend.
Each sculpture's design is chosen by its sponsor. Fort Ligonier will be represented by a Shawnee Indian, the YMCA by a snowboarder, and the fire department by a fire helmet. Examples of other designs this year include a bulldog, a Viking, a rubber duck and a high-heeled shoe.
Because the focus of the festival is outdoors, visitors are advised to dress for the weather.
“Everyone should dress warm so they can stay out and enjoy the sculptures,” says founder Ernie DiMartino of DiMartino Ice in Jeannette. “It's a great family event. The kids just love it.”
