new restaurant approved

Ligonier Borough Council has given Wigle Sisters Kitchen the go-ahead to open shop at 321 W. Main Street.
At a conditional use hearing Thursday, council voted unanimously to approve Elise Wells' request to open a comfort foods restaurant in a building that previously housed a tanning salon.
Wells, 34, of Ligonier Borough has been selling her homemade fare at the Ligonier Country Market for four years. Her restaurant location, next to the First Wok Chinese restaurant, will be open weekends with additional hours in the summertime. Take-out and eat-in dining will be offered.
“I don't aim to do a commercial-sized churn 'em and burn 'em food business,” she said. “It's more like slow-cooked homestyle. You come in and it's kind of like your kitchen at home.”
