Wilderness First Aid Course at Ligonier Camp in April


Ligonier Camp and Conference Center is pleased to offer a Wilderness First Aid course starting Friday, April 10 at 6:00 PM through Sunday, April 12th at 4:00 PM. This course is ideal for backpackers, hikers, utility workers, forest rangers, or hunters.
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is an advanced sixteen-hour First Aid course designed for those who live, work, and play in remote areas away from the usual EMS services. Topics covered include (but are not limited to): long-term patient care; patient assessment and recording; caring for head, extremity, and spinal injuries; controlling bleeding; and a number of other scenarios.
Other considerations:

  • Comfortable and weather-appropriate clothing should be worn. Class members role-play as injured persons during practice.
  • Minimum age: 15 years old.
  • Cost: $175 for commuters, $200 with lodging.
