on township zoning

On Tuesday, the board approved a series of amendments that were recommended by the planning commission, including:
• Changing the definition of a kennel to reflect that it applies to commercial kennel operations and not homeowners who house four or more animals. Additionally, the board approved deleting the stipulation that it only applies to dogs that are more than four months old.
• Removing mini storage units from the agricultural zone as a permitted use. Thomas cast a dissenting vote for that amendment.
• Reducing sign size regulations in the commercial zone from a maximum of 150 to 80 square feet.
• Clarifying the definition of bed and breakfastinns to read that “Special occasion functions may be conducted on the grounds surrounding the home and in buildings accessory to a residential home provided the use of same is limited to overnight guests during the course of their stay.”
