it's market time

The Ligonier Country Market will mark its 40th anniversary on Saturday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Considered one of the oldest and largest producer-only farmers markets in Western Pennsylvania, the market began as a part of the borough's bicentennial committee in 1976 and is managed by a 12-member board of directors, a paid manager and an operations coordinator.
Board President Dianne Miller, who took on the role in January, said a new layout has been designed to allow more face time between customers and vendors.
