Memorial Day service

On Monday, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 734 Commander John Balega will lead a joint Memorial Day service with Byers-Tosh American Legion Post 267 Commander Welby D. Jackson on the Ligonier Diamond.
This year's commemoration will be held on the holiday's actual date, May 25, and not on the Saturday prior to Memorial Day.
“The Memorial Day service is an important tradition in Ligonier,” said Balega. “And we plan to continue that tradition.”
He said plans were changed in previous years to try to meet the schedules of people who worked on Mondays.
“We heard loud and clear, the people want the service on Memorial Day,” Balega said.
