no millage increase for LVSD

Ligonier Valley school board unanimously gave preliminary approval to a general fund budget for the 2015-16 school year with no millage increase. The budget estimates expenditures at $29,284,263 and revenues at $27,730,582. The budget includes the utilization of $1,553,681 from the fund balance.
An expense added to the budget is $207,562 for two teachers, two aides and supplies for the new K-4 program that will debut at Laurel Valley and R.K. Mellon elementary schools. It is geared toward 4-year-old students preparing for kindergarten.
