MIAMI, April 22 (UPI) -- A lawsuit accusing Chipotle Mexican Grill of using food with genetically modified ingredients can move forward, a federal judge ruled.
The case, which is seeking class-action status, says the Denver-based company misled customers with claims its food was GMO-free. The suit alleges Chipotle's dairy product and meats come from animals that consume genetically modified food. A federal judge in Miami rejected the company's motion to dismiss. The case is scheduled to go to trial in November. Chipotle said there are no merits to the allegations.
