Happy New Year!

Lacy Making Dumplings
Tribune Review "Week In Pictures"
Thursday, December 21, Mountain Palace had visitors from the Tribune-Review. Staff Writer Shirley McMarlin and Photographer Shane Dunlap came to discuss the restaurant. This photo appeared today in the Trib's "Week In Pictures." The full article is expected to appear Wednesday, January 3 in their Food section so we were pleasantly surprised this morning to find this preview. Thanks to Shane, Shirley and the Trib!

Understanding Karma

Understanding Karma - A Focus On Wisdom & Perception
Tsai Wenchin
Sunday December 17   10:30 am
Mr. Tsai has indicated his discussion this week, while still addressing Karma, will contain a focus on wisdom and perception. How we perceive our circumstances forms our happiness or despair.
Pretty much everyone is troubled by a number of things about his or her life circumstances and interactions with other people. We are very limited by our senses of sight, taste, smell, touch, sound, etc. Everyone lives in their own world and views everyone else from their own perspective. We expect others, including our life partner, to understand us and agree with our views and behaviors. We constantly judge others by our own perceptions.
Tsai's presentations have been attempting to make us conscious of our biases in perceiving others through our own limited lenses. By understanding our own and others limitations we can reduce the anger and annoyances of our reactions and thus build a more positive karmic response. Developing our understanding helps us develop more positive karma and move us a bit closer to enlightenment. Tsai says if you follow this you will become the master of your life. This material is not religion but rather life philosophy.
